Northside Hospital is an award-winning, state-of-the-art healthcare institution that continually expands the quality and reach of its care to patients and communities. As a result, it presents numerous opportunities for skilled healthcare professionals in Atlanta and beyond.
The Newborn Admission Team Nurse plays a vital role in managing the care of newborn babies from birth until transfer to the appropriate nursery. This position serves as a valuable resource to the Family Center Care Staff Nurse regarding infant care.
In this role, you will provide primary care to newborn babies and apply the nursing process to assess low to moderate risk newborns, including APGAR scoring to determine their status and need for resuscitation immediately at birth.
You will also provide resuscitation as needed according to Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) guidelines, perform biophysical assessments, review maternal history for risk factors that could impact newborn care, and obtain initial measurements, lab, and point of care testing.
Additionally, you will initiate appropriate consults, provide education to mothers and/or care partners on medication side effects and plan of care, newborn safety and security, and skin-to-skin contact, initial latch, and breast or formula feeding.
This position requires a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. A minimum of two years of full-time experience as a RN post-orientation or post-residency training is also required.
A competitive salary is offered for this position, estimated around $85,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications. This compensation reflects the importance of the role in providing exceptional patient care and serving as a valuable member of the Northside Hospital team.
If you are a dedicated and compassionate nurse looking to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of newborn babies and their families, we invite you to consider this exciting opportunity. Apply today and take the first step towards a rewarding career with Northside Hospital
