Accounts Payable Manager

Our client, a top-tier international law firm, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join their team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and professional leader who can manage a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a team of over 1000 employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full cycle accounts payable process, including vendor management, invoice processing, expense reimbursement, client disbursements, credit card transactions, and payment processing.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and support to the Accounts Payable team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Continuously assess and identify opportunities to optimize AP workflows, leveraging automation and technology to enhance team productivity and accuracy.
  • Supervise the processing of credit cards and high-volume vendor transactions, as well as related reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end close activities for AP processes and establish and track KPIs to drive team performance and ensure compliance with departmental and firm goals.
  • Act as the AP lead on cross-departmental projects, driving the team's role in firm initiatives, system implementations, and process reengineering efforts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Minimum of five years of increasingly responsible accounts payable experience using enterprise-level accounts payable software in a large corporate environment or professional services firm.
  • People management experience is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of local sales and use tax rules and regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the use of functions and pivot tables.
