BPN Coding Specialist

BryanLGH Medical Center seeks a skilled Coding Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic, procedural, and complication codes to patient records, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Payer requirements.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of coding regulations and guidelines, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They will work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely coding, and will also be responsible for auditing and correcting denials from insurance companies.
We offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401(k) matching and paid time off.
Key Responsibilities:
- Auditing and correcting coded records to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assigning diagnostic, procedural, and complication codes according to Federal, State, and Payer requirements
- Reviewing and responding to questions from outside clinics regarding coding issues
- Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely coding
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Class work in ICD-10-CM, CPT Coding, and related courses from an accredited college or acceptable program required
- PMI's CMC certification or AAPC's CPC or CPC-P certification or AHIMA's CCA, CCS or CCS-P certification credential required
- Prior coding experience in a medical environment preferred
