Job Title: Electro-Hydraulic Fracturing Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory R&D Geoscientist to join our team at Eden GeoPower Inc. as an Electro-Hydraulic Fracturing Specialist.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work directly with the Laboratory R&D Lead to expand the rock mechanics experimental program in the company. This role requires advanced knowledge of geotechnical testing techniques, experience with experimental design and apparatus development, and a curiosity-driven mindset.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop new experimental apparatuses and testing protocols;
  • Conduct diverse geomechanics experiments including core flooding investigations, reactive transport, and proppant and rock strength/fracturing tests using High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) Triaxial cells;
  • Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure it is working, calibrated, and fit for purpose;
  • Develop and implement Lab Safety Protocol and other EHS duties;
  • Conduct fundamental and advanced research to support field investigations and test new technologies before their deployment;
  • Train new technicians in the R&D laboratory;
  • Share knowledge and challenges to benefit the team;
  • Prepare project updates, technical presentations, and reports for clients;
  • Prepare governmental reports, funding proposals, research papers, and presentations;

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, or Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience, including research work completed during MS/PhD degree;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to make technically sound recommendations;
  • Able to communicate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams;
  • Eligible to work in the US without immediate sponsorship;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Geological, or Mechanical Engineering;
  • 5+ years of laboratory experience, including research work completed during MS/PhD degree;
  • Experience with HPHT triaxial cells conducting geo-mechanical tests and/or reactive transport, core flooding, or permeability investigations;
  • Microfluidics and geochemical skills are a bonus;
  • Familiarity with equipment design, fabrication, and troubleshooting, with CAD/CAM expertise highly desirable;
  • Experience with data acquisition and control systems, with mechatronics a plus;
  • Good programming skills in Matlab/Python, with LabView and C++ being a bonus;

Estimated Salary:$90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
