This Supervisory Dentist-ESEP/MP position is responsible for the daily operations and management of the Dental Program. The selected individual will oversee the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including assessment of the problem, type of oral hygiene care required, nutrition assessment and counseling, restorative and rehabilitative care.
- Manage and supervise dental staff, including assigning work, providing instructions, explanations, and training in tasks and job techniques.
- Identify and utilize resources and materials for continuing education and arrange for supplemental training for specific deficiencies in performance.
- Review and establish policies and procedures for the operation of the department.
- Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).
- Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
- At least one year of experience performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level and above assignments.
The selected individual will be required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. If privileges are not obtained or maintained during employment, the employee will be subject to adverse actions, up to and including removal from Federal service.
On-call hours or standby duty may be required.
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
