About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at Children's Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nurses and respiratory therapists in patient care delivery, ensuring the highest level of care and comfort for our patients.
  • Prepare patient rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform basic patient care tasks, including vital signs, positioning, and ambulation, while documenting intake/output and other delegated tasks.
  • Respond promptly to patient and family needs, problem-solving and collaborating with the RN to ensure a positive experience.
  • Transport stable patients to procedures or testing within the hospital, maintaining a safe patient environment.
  • Participate in emergency situations, initiating BLS and continuing chest compressions as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified nurse assistant training, basic EMT, or medical assistant program preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as a CNA, EMT, or medical assistant; 1 year of field experience as a paramedic or EMT preferred for ED and ICU roles.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification required.
