Job Summary

The Laser Applications Engineer will work with state-of-the-art laser processing equipment, latest robotics, and machine tool technology. This hands-on position involves daily contact with IPG customers and requires strong interpersonal skills.

Main Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Strong professional communications, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities are essential for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Demonstration and Applications Development: Travel up to 15% to IPG locations, customer sites, trade shows, and conferences to showcase laser system specifications and applications.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Set up and operate robotic and CNC laser welding/cutting/drilling equipment for customer application testing and perform routine maintenance on lab equipment.
  • Inspection and Documentation: Conduct sample inspections using optical microscopy and metallographic cross-sectioning, polishing for weld inspection, and document test results in electronic reports.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • +3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Background in electronics, machine, or manufacturing technology
  • Experience with CAD/CAM, CNC, or robotic system programming
  • Previous industrial laser applications experience is a plus
Salary and Benefits
