Job Summary

This role requires a highly skilled IT project manager with expertise in leading complex projects, managing teams, and driving business outcomes. As an IT Project Director, you will be responsible for developing new applications, designing and installing IT technical architecture and infrastructure systems, and enhancing existing systems.

You'll assemble project teams, utilize cost and scheduling tools, and control other project variables to ensure successful project delivery. Your liaison role between IT and the business client will be crucial in achieving project goals.

A competitive salary range for this position is $180,000 - $280,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Accurately forecast project resource, material, and contract costs using standard PG&E tools.
  2. Make impactful decisions that contribute to departmental goals.
  3. Lead IT cross-functional projects/initiatives as the primary contact.
  4. Assess project performance and implement necessary changes to meet specified objectives.
  5. Clearly define and communicate project roles, responsibilities, and expectations to team members.
  6. Communicate project status to stakeholders and management.
  7. Conduct site visits and project kick-off meetings as needed.
  8. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and technical competence in your work.
  9. Coordinate contract work within defined PG&E policies.
  10. Maintain productive relationships with project sponsors, vendors, and key clients.
  11. Develop and update detailed project schedules and work plans.
  12. Establish metrics, procedures, objectives, and methods to assess project progress.
  13. Drive project-related tasks to completion.
  14. Ensure project team members have necessary tools and training.
  15. Exercise independent judgment in matters of significance with moderate scope and complexity.
  16. Foster a process-oriented environment.
  17. Gather and document project requirements.
  18. Plan work independently to meet project goals.
  19. May act as a team lead or coach for developing employees.
  20. Monitor critical project milestones and identify ways to resolve schedule issues.
  21. Orient staffing requirements, form project teams, and obtain necessary resources.
  22. Serve as a technical coach, trainer, or mentor for others.
  23. Prepare project documentation for closure, storage, and auditing purposes.
  24. Provide direction and leadership to project management analysts and schedulers.
  25. Be recognized as a go-to expert among peers.
  26. Record, track, and communicate issues, risks, changes, and status reports within standard PG&E tools.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of experience in IT product development cycles, complex.
  • 8 years of experience in project management.
  • 8 years of experience in IT, Information Technology.
  • Experience in IT professional service agreements.
  • PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification.
