Job Overview

Sierra Health and Wellness Centers, a leading network of behavioral health and rehab centers, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with adults and families struggling with addiction to alcohol, opiates, amphetamines, and other substances.

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position ranges from $27.74 to $36.06 per hour, based on internal equity, experience, and education.

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Chemical Dependency Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and monitoring client behaviors while in treatment for chemical and alcohol abuse and dependency
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to reduce or eliminate substance abuse and criminal thinking
  • Collaborating with mental health professionals and job developers to meet clients' employability and medical needs
  • Providing crisis management and counseling services, as well as running group therapies and education sessions
  • Caring for clients' emotional needs and coordinating treatment and discharge planning
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A High School diploma or GED
  • Certification as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor by a California Regulatory Agency
  • A minimum of one year of experience in drug and alcohol counseling
  • Familiarity with HIPAA/client confidentiality and personal rights
  • A valid License and/or certification in drug and alcohol counseling through an approved Department of Health Care licensing board
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • A valid Driver's License and insurable under Sierra Health and Wellness Centers automobile insurance policy
