About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Atrium Health, where you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care under the direct supervision of our Registered Nurses. As a valued member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for supporting patients with activities of daily living, assisting with personal hygiene, and performing various technical tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Support patients/residents with activities of daily living, including feeding, ambulation, and maintaining a clean and safe environment
  • Assist patients/residents with personal hygiene, such as bathing and grooming
  • Take vital signs and height and weight measurements, as well as perform routine venipuncture
  • Maintain patient/resident rooms in a clean and orderly condition, including restocking supplies and ensuring accurate inventory management
  • Orient patients/families to our unit and instruct them on safety measures
  • Perform clerical work, including answering phones, entering data, and maintaining medical records
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I or with the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II
  • BLS certification required per policy guidelines
  • Must speak and understand English in good understandable terms
Physical Demands

The ideal candidate must be able to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, bend, stretch, stoop, push, and pull. They must also be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.

Compensation
