Café Associate

Job Summary

As a Café Associate at Sam's Club, you will play a vital role in preparing fresh food items daily for our members. Your responsibilities will include following recipes, preparing our always warm and ready rotisserie chicken, and ensuring our members have the freshest items available to take home to their families. You will also be responsible for properly wrapping, labeling, and storing merchandise, as well as juggling multiple tasks in a short amount of time while helping members with their bakery orders. Your smile can make the difference between a good shopping experience and a great one.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare fresh food items daily, following recipes and ensuring high-quality products are available in our prepared foods area
Maintain the Sales Floor in accordance with Company policies and procedures, including properly handling claims and returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages
Ensure shelves are clean, maintaining temperature control, verifying expiration dates, and disposing of lesser-quality food products
Prepare and serve ready-to-eat food, maintaining a clean, sanitized, and member-ready area

What You'll Do

As a Café Associate, you will be part of a team that offers customers more of what they love, for less. You will be responsible for:
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise
Collaborating with cross-functional teams and helping educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources
Communicating effectively with the members of the team and being flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas
Preparing food according to item specifications, understanding and planning future productions and mass productions, and adhering to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, inventory management, and operating, maintaining, and sanitizing equipment
Leveraging digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement
