Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a Respiratory Therapist PRN, you will provide general and emergency respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols. Your expertise will include respiratory assessment, airway and ventilator management, bi-level non-invasive ventilation management, pulmonary diagnostics, delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy, intubation, CPR, bronchoscopy assistance, arterial line placement, arterial sampling and ABG analysis and interpretation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics.
• Conduct respiratory assessments, including spirometry, pulse oximetry, and arterial blood gas analysis.
• Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and ventilator management.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and quality of care.
• Act as a preceptor and mentor to new and existing staff members, promoting professional growth and development.

Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network.
• Ability to recognize changes in patients and modify care as necessary according to departmental standards and approved physician protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
