As a Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery, you will work closely with our physicians to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the success of our orthopedic surgery and musculoskeletal care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct physical exams, assess patient health status, order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, and treat illnesses and conditions.
- Consult with physicians as needed and refer patients to physicians for more complicated medical cases.
- Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.
- Triage patient calls and evaluate patient problems.
- Respond to emergencies, including use of CPR.
- Counsel patients and families on preventive health care.
- Document patient information and care in medical records.
- First assist in assigned provider's surgery cases.
- Participate in patient rounding and serve on walk-in clinic teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant program.
- Four years of healthcare experience prior to applying to the PA program.
- One year of experience as a PA, preferably in a clinical setting.
- National PA-C certification.
