Correctional Health Nursing Professional

About the Role:
NYC Health + Hospitals is seeking a skilled and compassionate Correctional Health Nursing Professional to join our team. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support in a fast-paced correctional health setting.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans
- Assess patient health problems and needs, and make appropriate referrals as required
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, conducting laboratory tests, and providing health education
- Coordinate nursing care activities, including assigning staff, communicating staffing concerns, and ensuring continuity of care on other shifts
- Participate in emergency response situations, such as medical emergencies, fires, or natural disasters
Requirements:
- A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership traits, with a minimum of one year of clinical nursing practice experience preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
