Electronics Technician 2 Job Description

We are seeking an Electronics Technician 2 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of SES, you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates, and maintains electronic security services, including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial customers across high-growth markets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain electronic security systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Conduct and document daily tool box talks.
  • Install all head end equipment at both the local and global level per design packages.
  • Program head end equipment for Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and CCTV systems.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate both systems and/or hardware at both a local and global level.
  • Provide on-site software commissioning and testing.
  • Perform inspections, evaluations, and inventory.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED, or military electronics training, or graduation from an accredited electronics technician program, or graduation from an electrical apprenticeship program, or additional three years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities.
  • Progressive experience: 6+ years of electronics installation and/or maintenance activities on multiple systems and with multiple customer programs, with 3 years focused in electronic security systems.
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated background working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Vendor certifications in multiple IDS, ACS, and CCTV systems.
  • Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, Bosch CCTV, Bosch BVMS, AIphone Intercom Systems Airphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows operating systems & certifications, and experience in installation of said systems.

Physical Abilities/Requirements:
  • Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
  • Relocates a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and all types of ladders.
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls, and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
  • Possesses good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
  • Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
  • See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
