We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Nurse Specialist for Post Anesthesia Care in Oakland, California.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced PACU environment, providing high-quality patient care and support to patients recovering from anesthesia. As a Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to post-anesthesia patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement effective care plans, addressing the physical and emotional needs of patients.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' vital signs, medical history, and current health status to identify potential complications or concerns.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate dosing and administration.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including progress notes, medication administration, and discharge instructions.

Requirements:

  • Certified Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid California license.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a PACU or similar setting.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
