Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer II to join our team at General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating the fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, engines, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crews.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree and 3-5 years of experience in a relevant function.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree.
  • Discipline/Major: Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering-related degree required.
