Job Summary

This position involves instructing children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills such as learning to listen to instructions, playing with others, and using play equipment.
  • Instruct children in practices of personal cleanliness and self-care.
  • Alternate periods of strenuous activity with periods of rest or light activity to avoid over stimulation and fatigue.
  • Help children develop habits of caring for their own clothing and picking up and putting away toys and books.
  • Serve meals and refreshments to children.
RequirementsKnowledge & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Child Development.
  • Successful experience in student teaching or classroom teaching required.
  • Appropriate certification (if applicable).
  • Knowledge of individual and group activities designed to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills.
  • Medical appraisal by a licensed physician (within three months prior to the first day of work).
  • State police background check and completion of the Safe Environment Program and background check.
  • Child care check.
  • Active member of a Roman Catholic parish faith community.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Frequent interaction with young children, parents, and other preschool personnel; be professional and tactful with all interactions.
  • Responsible for supplies and equipment used to perform work.

The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Child Development and at least one year of experience in student teaching or classroom teaching. They will also have appropriate certification and knowledge of individual and group activities designed to stimulate growth in language, social, and motor skills.
