Job Summary

VCU Health is seeking a highly skilled Physiatrist to join our team as an Inpatient Rehabilitation Specialist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, advancing the patient care, research, and teaching missions, and contributing to the development of clinical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide and advance patient care, research, and teaching missions through direct patient care in the clinic, clinical research, and training of residents, medical students, and other trainees.
  • Provide outpatient, consult, and inpatient/acute rehabilitation services.
  • Assist in the supervision of residents, fellows, and other learners in the environment.
  • Participate in the orientation of each group of house staff and students to the Rehabilitation program.
  • Contribute to the field of Physiatry overall through professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO)
  • Good academic and clinical credentials, demonstrated ability to establish new clinical initiatives, effective oral and written communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well with people in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
