Building Systems Engineering Project Manager I Role

CPL Architects Engineers Landscape Arch & Sur seeks a highly skilled and experienced Building Systems Engineering Project Manager I to join our team. In this role, you will coordinate and manage the work of other professionals, providing practical and inspired designs for building system projects ranging wide in scope.

About the Position:

  • We are looking for a professional with BS (and/or MS) in a related field or equivalent experience and skills.
  • A minimum of twelve years of engineering experience is required, with professional licensure preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the Healthcare market and a deep understanding of the foundational principles of building systems engineering.
  • You should be able to foster a creative engineering environment and possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work across a wide range of areas within the building systems engineering discipline, proficient in use of AutoCAD, Revit, and other specialty-critical software, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • This role requires strong ability to prioritize and juggle critical tasks, seeing them through to completion while maintaining high design standards and adhering to established project timelines.
Responsibilities:
  • Keep abreast of new scientific methods and developments affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending beneficial changes.
  • Coordinate as necessary across a variety of building design disciplines, including architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and structural.
  • Project-related duties include management of both personnel and process, developing project scopes and objectives, and coordinating all project efforts – both administrative and technical – to ensure the most gainful and cost-effective outcome of assigned tasks.
  • Establish short and long-term goals and create appropriate timelines for their completion, subsequently assigning specialized teams to accommodate related needs.
  • Schedule, lead, and attend client vision sessions.
  • Assist with project proposals, assisting in marketing efforts to grow CPL's business.
  • Manage project finances, including billing, invoice generation, and asset/resource allocation.
  • Perform quality assurance/control on others' work, verifying methodologies, calculations, outcomes, etc.
  • Supervisory requirements including recruitment, retention, and development of talent, managing team member allocation and assessing the strengths of the project team to organize and regulate workload assignments, supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work, schedules, and assigns work to meet completion dates, engaging and fostering the growth of CPL team members, providing encouragement and regular feedback, and serving as a mentor/example for all levels of the team.
