At Bradford Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing Adventure-Based Counseling and leisure activities to patients struggling with chemical dependency.
Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments in leisure, physical disability, psychomotor performance, and play to develop personalized activity plans.
- Implement a variety of recreational activities to meet the needs of our patients, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient participation and progress.
- Provide leisure education and guidance to patients, promoting healthy habits and coping mechanisms.
- Manage the Adventure-Based Counseling (ABC) program, ensuring proper equipment, safety inspections, and general safety protocols.
- Collaborate with colleagues, managers, and clients to provide exceptional care and support.
- Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy or a related field, with current certification (CTRS) or other recognized national certification.
- At least one year of experience in behavioral health, working with adult and adolescent chemically dependent individuals.
- Valid Alabama driver's license and a safe driving record.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.
