Administrative Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at Patriot Hospice.
About the Role:
This is a full-time opportunity that requires excellent administrative and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in the healthcare field and possess a strong understanding of office software and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the Referral Coordinator and Medical Records Nurse, including referral management and medical records maintenance.
- Perform general clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, and mailing.
- Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
- Retrieve documents from filing systems.
- Handle requests for information and data.
- Prepare written responses to routine inquiries.
- Prepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, and emails.
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence.
- Maintain facility books at upstate skilled nursing facilities weekly.
- Assist with logistics for new hire orientation.
- Assist with the on-call program for referrals.
- Assist HR with bereavement orders.
- DHEC office duties.
- Maintain Monthly Books.
- Assist with front-end duties.
- Must be flexible and have the ability to travel as needed.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of a 12th-grade education or its equivalent.
- At least 2 years' experience in the healthcare field.
- The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- The ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- The ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- The ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Patience, tact, professional character, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
- The ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
- Knowledge of computers, data entry, output, etc.
Salary Range:
The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
