Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Urology Outpatient Services department at Medstar. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, educate patients and families, and contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.

About the Role:

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $34.98-$62.52 per hour, depending on experience. In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing professional nursing care to patients in the urology outpatient setting, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education;
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, and evaluating patient outcomes;
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow;
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient interactions, and communicating effectively with healthcare teams;
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and contributing to the development of evidence-based practice guidelines;
  • Providing education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills;
  • Staying current with best practices, research, and regulatory requirements, applying knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • An Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program;
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of professional nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or urology setting;
  • A valid RN license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia (or compact state licensure);
  • CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 days of hire;
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice, medical equipment, and instruments; and
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships, reacting calmly in emergency situations.
