RK&K is seeking a highly skilled Right of Way Acquisition Specialist to support our Utilities/Real Estate Group in New Jersey. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing real estate support for acquisitions, negotiations, and project management.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide real estate support for acquisitions, including negotiations and project management.
- Negotiate acquisitions and divestitures as needed for various utility projects.
- Comply with Federal, State, and Local real estate laws and regulations.
- Prepare required deeds, easements, options, condemnation packages, and agreements as necessary.
- Conduct property settlements and testify as needed in condemnation cases.
- Attend project meetings, prepare project updates, and provide meeting minutes.
- Prepare comparable market analysis reports and just compensation letters.
- Appraise reviews and research county land records and review title commitments.
- Negotiate for the acquisition or sale of real estate.
- Assemble and interpret information from various sources.
- Prepare comparable market analysis and just compensation reports.
- Prepare bid packages, option contracts, and condemnation filings.
- Communicate effectively as a witness in trials and public meetings and hearings.
- Obtain required project-specific state notary public.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, engineers, and the general public.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the court system, its records, and its rules.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Federal, State, and local real estate laws, standards, and guidelines.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Abstract and interpret real property land titles and financial instruments.
- Solve real estate-related issues.
- Interpret maps, deeds, plats, and plans.
- Four (4) years of experience with a condemning authority providing acquisition, relocation assistance, or property asset management services.
- Experience in a variety of acquisition and relocation projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Experience working with Electric Utility projects.
- Knowledge of Electric Utility Systems.
- Experience reviewing Title Commitments.
- General knowledge of New Jersey.
