We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Dentist to join our team at Meridian Health Services. The ideal candidate will possess a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from an accredited Dental School and have experience in Rural Dentistry or a Community Health center setting.

The Associate Dentist will be responsible for obtaining complete dental history and physical data on patients, performing a complete dental exam and assessment, and making independent judgments in managing acute and long-term dental needs of patients. The successful candidate will also adhere to all HIPAA rules and statutes, maintain business & patient confidentiality, and interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

The Associate Dentist will also be responsible for maintaining and reviewing patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, ordering appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures, and evaluating tests and examination results. Additionally, the successful candidate will synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention and/or treatment, administer medications and injections as per licensing guidelines, and interview and advise patients regarding dental maintenance and oral health.

The Associate Dentist will also refer patients as appropriate, instruct patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions, manage dental emergencies, provide monitoring and continuity of care between clinic visits as required, and remain current in advanced practice changes within the area. The successful candidate will also maintain CPR certification and re-licensure requirements, comply with all agency policies and procedures concerning corporate compliance, and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs.

The Associate Dentist will also provide telephone consultation, follow-up phone calls, and triage patient telephone calls, and perform related work as required and other duties as assigned by the Dental Director (CDO).
