Procurement Specialist

The Shyft Group is a leading manufacturer of specialty vehicles, with a portfolio of brands that serve the last-mile delivery, work truck, and motorhome chassis markets. We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team in Bristol, IN.

About the Role:

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing production materials, fostering strong supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. You will leverage analytical and negotiation skills to ensure optimal cost, quality, and delivery performance, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the procurement of production materials, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers, driving continuous improvement and collaboration
• Analyze data to inform procurement decisions, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Develop and implement effective negotiation strategies, achieving fair pricing and terms
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and priorities
• Monitor and manage key supplier performance metrics, ensuring supply continuity and mitigating risks
• Provide solutions and support for manufacturing production goals, including new product development and process improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Materials Management, Finance, Engineering, or Operations
• 3+ years of experience in a professional procurement role, with exposure to various manufacturing processes and commodities
• Knowledge of all aspects of business operations, including finance, accounting, legal, materials management, engineering, quality, and manufacturing
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to analyze data to inform procurement decisions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Competitive salary: $70,000 - $90,000 per year
