Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Staff Attorney to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of vulnerable children.

Responsibilities
  • Client Representation: Effectively represent children as subjects or parties in assigned cases, ensuring their rights are protected and their interests are advocated for.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to achieve common goals and maintain a cohesive work environment.
  • Case Management: Maintain accurate calendars and files, adhering to the office's best practices expectations.
  • Support and Mentorship: Provide coverage for other attorneys as needed and mentor student interns under the guidance of the Managing Attorney.
Requirements
  • A registered attorney in good standing, admitted to practice in New York State, with all necessary qualifications to maintain licensure.
  • Prior experience as an attorney for children and familiarity with family law is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of civil and criminal laws related to New York State family law, along with excellent communication and dispute resolution skills.
  • A current NYS driver's license and a registered, insured vehicle available for use during working hours.
