Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Abacus Technology is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team and provide technical support for defense programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and assess defect prevention strategies for hardware development, production, and deployment.
  • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) analyses to ensure hardware systems meet cost, schedule, and user satisfaction requirements.
  • Conduct special studies and analyze broad QA issues common to all acquisition programs.
  • Review and assess contractor QA planning and progress.
  • Evaluate the quality system of weapon system prime/subcontractors or depots.
  • Analyze prime/subcontractor strategies and activities to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in identifying major cost/risk trade-offs and lifecycle cost considerations.
  • Support quality audits including hardware audits.
  • Evaluate hardware quality through disassembly, inspection, and testing.
  • Provide assistance in preparing quality strategies for defect prevention.
  • Determine program QA requirements and prepare descriptions of tasks for inclusion in contracts.
  • Provide QA inputs to initial test planning for hardware.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of experience in electrical and avionics engineering, including 5+ years supporting defense programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with aircraft systems engineering and knowledge of systems engineering in support of various hardware and software systems.
  • Able to access/maintain government electronic technical systems.
  • Thorough understanding of application software, operating systems, networks, and storage platforms.
  • Experience with system development life cycle, process modeling, and workflow diagrams.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem definition, science and technology roadmap analysis, and cost versus capability trade off analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to represent complex data effectively.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
  • Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
