Job Summary\
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Operations Manager to lead the International Registration Plan (IRP), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Performance and Registration Information Systems Management (PRISM), International Fuel Tax Agreement (IFTA), and EZFleet programs at the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the programs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to program staff, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including federal and state agencies, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop recommendations to address these issues.

Responsibilities\
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the programs, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. They will also be responsible for representing the State of Virginia at national and regional meetings and conferences related to IRP, PRISM, and IFTA.

Requirements\
To be considered for this position, applicants must have working knowledge of management principles and practices, process improvement methods, communication techniques, training needs assessment, and personnel rules and regulations. Demonstrated ability to manage and direct staff, develop reports, training, and procedural documents, and understand and apply mathematical concepts to calculate and verify tax computations is essential. Experience in transportation operations, program management, and leadership roles is highly desirable.
