About the Role

As a Mortgage Lender at Bank Iowa, you will play a vital role in originating mortgage loans and promoting the bank's services to the community. This position may also involve originating agricultural and commercial loans. Your primary responsibility will be to identify and serve the community's financial needs through loan counseling, seminars, and sales meetings, as well as participating in and promoting the bank's community activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate mortgage loan business by developing relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and other referral sources.
  • Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers to analyze financial and credit data, determine financing objectives, and advise on product options.
  • Guide clients through the loan application process and ensure all necessary documentation is collected.
  • Collaborate with underwriters to secure approval for loans.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1-2 years' experience in a financial institution or loan office setting is required.
  • Bilingual or multilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Ability to produce self-generated loans.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Registration and obtaining a unique identifier number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System is required.
