Job Summary

Bryan Health seeks a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to perform various imaging procedures and ensure patient safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest trends in diagnostic imaging.
  2. Ensure the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment, utilizing equipment to minimize hazards and promote a safe environment.
  3. Determine the most suitable anatomical posture and position patients for optimal image quality.
  4. Capture high-quality diagnostic images of internal organs and tissues using computerized tomography (CT) equipment.
  5. Perform regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of X-ray tubes.
  6. Evaluate CT scans to determine their technical quality.
  7. Assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedures and make appropriate physician contact for intervention.
  8. Utilize the AIDET method to provide exceptional patient care.
  9. Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures to maintain a safe environment.
  10. Take call according to monthly schedules after regular department hours.
  11. Complete all work before clocking out and leaving the premises.
  12. Perform quality control checks as prescribed by regulations.
  13. Maintain accurate QC logs, service records, and other documentation.
  14. Deliver highest-quality imaging consistent with prescribed examinations, document deviations, and maintain confidentiality.
  15. Interact professionally with patients, families, and coworkers.
  16. Understand and apply proper use of equipment according to manufacturer's instructions.
  17. Utilize Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  18. Provide age-appropriate care for patients, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
  19. Perform other duties assigned by the department manager.
  20. Participate in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.
  21. Perform related tasks and projects as directed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or associate's degree in a related field.
  • One year of experience in radiologic/CT preferred.
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current state of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Estimated Salary Range:$65,000 - $85,000 per year
