We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Mass General Brigham.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care and supporting nursing practice through education, training, and application of evidence-based nursing practice. They will also be involved in protocol development and evaluation for chemotherapy and medical infusion treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting nursing practice through consultative and role modeling activities
  • Applying innovative technology, nursing theories, research findings, and experiential knowledge to improve nursing practice
  • Responding to changes in clinical practice by planning, crafting, implementing, or evaluating guidelines, protocols, and standards in collaboration with the nursing director, nursing staff, and members of the healthcare team
  • Implementing and evaluating programs and practice changes based upon learning the needs of patients and staff

In addition, the Nurse Coordinator will collaborate with the nurse director to provide leadership and education to registered nurses, advanced practice providers, and all members of the healthcare team. Direct patient care responsibilities will include administering chemotherapy, biologics, and medical infusions to pediatric patients.

Requirements
  • Current licensure as a CNS/NPS in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required
  • Relevant professional experience as a Nurse Practice Specialist is essential
  • Master's degree in nursing is preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of pediatric oncology nursing experience is required
  • BLS certification is required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with families, interdisciplinary care teams, referring programs, and providers
