Speech-Language Therapist

This position as a Speech-Language Pathologist at Elderwood at Williamsville involves ensuring the health and well-being of individuals by making recommendations for speech-language therapy treatment plans and carrying out treatments as planned. The successful candidate will conduct audiometric screenings, make referrals for further audiology evaluations, and maintain accurate records.

• Screens residents for communication problems and conducts in-depth evaluations to make written recommendations for therapy plans.
• Coordinates audiometric screenings and makes referrals for further audiology evaluations or treatments.
• Initiates speech-language therapy plans according to physician orders and maintains required contact with physicians.
• Treats residents with respect and kindness, observing their rights and maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintains accurate records, including written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an approved school is required.
• A state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist is also required.
• Clinical Competence Certification from the American Speech and Hearing Association is preferred.
• The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• A current, valid CPR/BLS credential is necessary.
• Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others are essential.
