Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech - Ortho/Spine Specialist

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Tech to join our team in the Orthopedic and Spine Department. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.

**Responsibilities:**

- Prepare sterile operating rooms for surgeries, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Sterilize equipment and instruments, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Stock adequate supplies for surgery, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites, promoting a safe and comfortable experience.
- Provide support during surgery by passing instruments and other supplies, maintaining a calm and focused demeanor.
- Track surgical supplies, ensuring accurate inventory management and minimizing waste.
- Stay up-to-date on surgical technology, medical terminology, and procedures, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with surgeons, surgical assistants, nurses, and the general surgical team to ensure a cohesive and effective working environment.
- Provide exceptional patient care, prioritizing their comfort, safety, and well-being.

**Requirements:**

- Must have at least 2 years of experience in the Operating Room, with a strong background in Orthopedic (total joints and spine) procedures.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification preferred.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
- Strong technical skills, with a focus on surgical technology and equipment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and a passion for patient care.
- Requires a minimum of two years of current Ortho Surgical Tech experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited Certified Surgical Tech program.
- Active unencumbered Surgical Tech Wisconsin state license.
- One year of Cerner experience preferred.

- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
