DME Customer Care Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled DME Customer Care Representative to join our team at Health First. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of new DME orders, and maintaining frequent communication with referral sources and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and process referrals from hospitals, provider offices, and other referral sources, maintaining frequent communication about delivery of setups.
- Review medical records for appropriate documentation of diagnosis, notes, and equipment ordered, verifying insurance benefits and copays.
- Respond to customer inquiries or equipment orders by researching, understanding, and documenting the account, creating appropriate delivery documentation as necessary.
- Assist customers in a caring and knowledgeable manner, representing the organization as a skilled healthcare professional.
- Create billing documents needed per insurance guidelines and follow-up on outstanding documentation in a timely manner.
- Work reports such as held claims, open orders daily to ensure timely billing and follow-up on outstanding documentation.
- Coordinate delivery of equipment with DME technicians and supervisors.
- Contribute to a collaborative culture and positive work environment.
- Assist in over-the-counter sales and/or rentals, identifying needed equipment and/or supplies and instructing customers in the safe and proper use of equipment and supplies.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 6 months of customer service experience.
- Successful completion of Level II background screening.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as relevant systems and applications.
- Customer focus, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability.
- One year of experience in a healthcare environment.
- Working knowledge of medical insurance and medical terminology.
Sitting at a computer for long periods of time, walking, and standing or lifting more than 10 pounds are required only occasionally. Ability to enter information using hand/wrist dexterity.
