Overview of the RoleThe Director of Operations plays a pivotal part in overseeing and enhancing the operation of the bar program at REDD. This role requires an individual with a strong background in operations and cost management, cocktail development, and labor management.
Duties- Mindfully serve alcoholic beverages with a keen sense of judgment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons.
- Maintain consistent communication with FOH, BOH, the beverage team, and management to guarantee seamless service delivery.
- Provide attentive service while anticipating customers' needs, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.
- Promote bar cleanliness and organization, adhering to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Develop strong relationships with regular customers, fostering loyalty and driving business growth through personalized service.
- Offer menu insights and recommendations when appropriate, showcasing expertise in craft cocktails and elevating the overall dining experience.
- Create a weekly schedule for bar staff, ensuring adequate coverage and efficient service delivery.
- Manage liquor and beer inventory, maintaining optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
- Schedule draft line cleanings with licensed technicians to ensure equipment is always in top working condition.
- Curate spirit selection, leading staff training sessions on spirits and cocktails to elevate knowledge and skills.
- Place orders for liquor, beer, and bar supplies, including bitters, citrus, garnishes, and other essentials.
- Previous experience in high-volume, craft cocktail establishments is essential for this role.
- Strong wine and beer knowledge, as well as craft cocktail expertise, is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of bartending and serving experience is preferred.
- A personable demeanor, friendly personality, and excellent communication skills are crucial for building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to cleanliness are necessary for success in this role.
