This is an opportunity to teach Sociology courses at Volunteer State Community College. The adjunct instructor will be responsible for delivering quality instruction using integrative technologies and teaching evening, weekend, off-campus, dual enrollment, and distance-based courses as required.
Responsibilities- Teach courses via on-ground, online, hybrid, or web-enhanced modalities as assigned.
- Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of class or within seven days of the execution of contract.
- Regularly check your VSCC email and respond to messages within 48 hours except on weekends.
- Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the Registrar.
- Complete required College trainings and reports such as attendance, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions, and administer surveys by the required deadlines.
- A Master's degree in Sociology from an accredited institution or a Master's degree plus 18 graduate hours in Sociology from an accredited institution.
- Collegiate level teaching experience is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
The salary range for this position is $650 - $775 per credit hour. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available.
