You will administer medications, including IV drips and infusions, as prescribed by physicians, and perform complex nursing procedures. Additionally, you will assist with the transition of patients from the ICU to the PCU unit, ensuring continuity of care and smooth handoff. Your collaboration with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals will be crucial in developing and implementing individualized care plans. You will educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and discharge planning, promoting understanding and compliance. Your regular assessments and accurate documentation of patient information will maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards. You will respond to emergencies and provide immediate care, utilizing critical thinking skills to evaluate patient needs and make informed decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Stepdown Unit, or related critical care nursing field is required. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is mandatory. Strong knowledge of critical care nursing practices, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac care is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with the healthcare team. You must be able to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments and possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail. A compassionate and patient-focused approach to care is essential.
