Structural Steel Estimator

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, including material and labor costs. This position requires strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost calculations.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent work experience, and at least 3 years of experience in steel estimating. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software is also required.

We offer a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience, as well as performance-based incentives, 401k, health insurance, paid time off, and remote work options.

Responsibilities:

• Project Review and Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project requirements, scope of work, and potential challenges.
• Quantity Takeoff and Cost Estimation: Perform quantity takeoffs and measurements from project drawings and specifications to quantify materials, equipment, and labor needed for construction.
• Bid Preparation and Submission: Prepare bid packages, which include cost estimates, proposals, and bid forms, ensuring they meet project requirements and submission deadlines.
• Client Communication: Conduct bid follow-ups and serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the bidding and project management process.
• Cost Analysis and Value Engineering: Conduct cost analysis and value engineering reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities, alternative materials, and construction methods.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in steel estimating.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost calculations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
