Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current documentation of all electrical and control systems, including device hardware and software.
  • Assist mechanics and other electro-mechanics in troubleshooting and repairing electrical or controls-related failures.
  • Train and coordinate activities of electro-mechanics on all shifts as necessary.
  • Work from offsite locations occasionally to assist with equipment troubleshooting and repair.
  • Maintain production equipment while running on a product production schedule, performing electrical and mechanical inspections safely.
  • During equipment down days, perform corrective, preventive, or scheduled repairs in accordance with company and/or machine vendor specifications.
  • In the event of an equipment breakdown, determine the cause of the trouble, repair, and return the equipment to production in the shortest time possible.
  • Complete assigned tasks in accordance with government codes, regulations, GMP, safety, quality control, company programs, and procedures.
  • Primarily perform preventive, scheduled, or corrective repairs on batching and continuous process control systems, their networks, AC/DC and servo drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical components.
  • Maintain plant secondary systems for steam, hot and chilled water, pneumatic air, electrical power, refrigeration, HVAC, and emissions control.
  • Maintain work records in accordance with work orders, backlog, and job assignment system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • May travel to various locations for part purchases, training, or other duties.
  • Ensure the quality, legality, and safety of each product and manufacturing processes, maintaining a clean and organized work area at all times.

Requirements:

  • AS/AAS degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred or equivalent high school/military experience in a related field with practical knowledge of full machine and electrical control system installation.
  • Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi software, and preventative maintenance software.
  • Able to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems design documentation and vendor-supplied documents.
  • Working knowledge of control system projects, including machine layout, control drawings, P&ID, system interconnection drawings, A/B-Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi programming and configurations.
  • Ability to perform basic and advanced math and convert units of measurement.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to detailed instructions and deal with standardized situations.
  • Able to read and interpret work orders, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions, completing forms detailing maintenance work performed.
