Role Overview

New Hope Services (NHS) is a leading provider of human services in Southern Indiana, celebrating 65 years of service to the community. NHS offers a comprehensive range of support services for children and families, including ability services and affordable housing solutions.

The WIC Program at NHS is seeking an experienced Breastfeeding Specialist to join their team. This role will provide assistance to WIC mothers and infants with complex breastfeeding challenges that are beyond the scope of practice for WIC peer counselors and other staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert lactation consulting services to WIC mothers and infants with complex breastfeeding issues.
  • Develop and implement individualized breastfeeding plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Collaborate with WIC staff to ensure seamless delivery of breastfeeding services.
Requirements
  • Must possess International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) accreditation.
  • At least 1 year of experience in counseling breastfeeding mother/infant dyads.
  • Experience working with lower socio-economic status breastfeeding mothers and infants who face complex breastfeeding challenges.
Compensation Details

This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $28.00, with the opportunity to work 20 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting breastfeeding families and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
