Compensation Package
The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist at Atrium Health, you will be responsible for performing procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. You will operate MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, ensuring the highest quality images and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring any discrepancies to the Radiologist.
- Properly identify patients using two identifiers and assist them during procedures, explaining the process and documenting their medical history.
- Assume responsibility for exams from beginning to end, preparing and administering IV contrast as needed.
- Evaluate technical quality of images and consult with Radiologists when necessary, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images as instructed.
- Perform basic patient care functions, inform nursing personnel of changes in patient condition, and initiate life support measures when necessary.
- Practice radiation safety principles and report malfunctioning equipment to the department director or clinical engineer.
- Maintain knowledge and skills required to work safely in environments with potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious disease.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry-eligible program.
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI within one year of hire.
- CPR certification required.
