Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a 5-month contract position requiring onsite work.

About the Role:
We require a Medical Laboratory Scientist with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and quality control. The successful candidate will perform laboratory procedures: specimen handling, processing, testing, analysis, and result reporting. They will maintain accurate records for quality control, calibration, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory procedures as per established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records for quality control, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Adhere to regulatory guidelines (CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA) and laboratory protocols.
  • Analyze specimens using approved methods and review/release test results.
  • Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Participate in training and development programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
  • OR Associate's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
  • National certification (ASCP or AMT) preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high-complexity testing
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and quality control
  • Proficiency in computer skills and laboratory information systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
