Blood Donor Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Apheresis Technician I to join our team at the Blood Donor Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing donor registration, screening, whole blood collection, automated platelet and red blood cell apheresis collections, and preparation of components from collected whole blood.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs donor registration, screening, and whole blood collection
- Conducts automated platelet and red blood cell apheresis collections
- Prepares components from collected whole blood
- Provides excellent customer service
- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures
Requirements
- Medical Assistant certificate or phlebotomy training desired
- National Phlebotomy Certification desired
- CPR certificate desired
- Previous patient/donor care experience or experience within a patient care or blood donor setting preferred
Working Conditions
The Apheresis Technician I will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to blood and blood products. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
