Job Summary

As a key member of the Chick-fil-A Corporate Communications team, this role will serve as the strategic communications lead for the Supply Chain and Distribution department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate communications, with experience in developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that effectively target key audiences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading crisis and event-related communications, including on-call responsibility for product withdrawals/recalls and weather-related events impacting supply. Additionally, they will lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and execution of the communications strategy.

This role requires a highly collaborative style, with the ability to influence and build alignment at all levels and across multiple teams, departments, and within subsidiary businesses. The ideal candidate will be a strategic communicator who is comfortable leading in ambiguity and is willing and able to evaluate, make informed recommendations to leadership, and execute communication plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that effectively targets key audiences with messaging and tactics across strategic and executive communications; urgent and event-related communications; program communications
  • Lead crisis and event-related communications, including on-call responsibility for product withdrawals/recalls and weather-related events impacting supply
  • Lead cross-functional team that brings together Vertical Business Line and Chick-fil-A, Inc. Staff to ensure seamless integration and execution of the communications strategy
  • Lead effort to evolve internal content strategy and planning for Staff
  • Serve as communications liaison on multiple cross-functional teams and advise and influence both laterally and with senior leadership
  • Create and execute major deadline-driven communications initiatives, on budget and on time, using appropriate combinations of vendors, contractors, agencies, and in-house services

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in corporate communications, with a focus on strategic communications and crisis communications
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective communication strategies that drive business results
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm and lead in high-pressure, rapidly evolving situations
  • Comfortable operating both autonomously and on matrixed teams

Travel Requirements: 15% of the time
