Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Clinical Neurosurgery Specialist to join our esteemed team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our Stroke and Brain Injury Unit, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of neurosurgical practices.

Job Summary

This is a full-time regular position with a shift schedule from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., requiring 36 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in neurosurgery and a passion for providing compassionate care to patients with complex neurological conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, brain tumors, cerebral aneurysms, shunts, trigeminal neuralgia, and neuromuscular degenerative disorders.
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including lumbar drain management, telemetry monitoring, tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tube insertion, heparin drip administration, IV antibiotic therapy, and antiepileptic medication management.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training programs to stay current with best practices in neurosurgery and contribute to the development of new protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of 12 months of recent experience in a hospital setting within the past five years or completion of a re-entry nursing program.
  • A valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS may be required in designated departments.
