Are you an accomplished trial attorney seeking a challenging and rewarding role in insurance defense? State Farm Careers is currently recruiting for an Insurance Defense Attorney to join our team in St. Petersburg, FL.

About the Role

This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work both in-office and remotely, with a focus on time-sensitive caseload management. As an Insurance Defense Attorney, you will be responsible for handling complex civil litigation cases, with a strong emphasis on trial experience and knowledge of Florida civil procedure.

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized individual with excellent written and oral advocacy skills. A JD from an ABA-accredited law school and active licensure to practice law in Florida are required. Three or more years of legal experience, preferably in insurance defense, is preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle discovery, depositions, and hearings
  • Conduct thorough case analysis and develop effective trial strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Collaborate with support staff to ensure smooth case management
Requirements
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active licensure to practice law in Florida
  • Three or more years of legal experience (insurance defense preferred)
  • Strong automation/technological skills (Word, Outlook, Westlaw)
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
What We Offer

As a valued member of our team, you can expect a competitive salary of $140,000 - $180,000 per year, based on experience.
