Job Summary:
A key role in the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Occupational Medicine unit, providing essential support to ensure the health and safety of our community.

This position involves a range of responsibilities including:
- Performing various medical screenings and tests such as pulmonary function testing, respirator fit testing, and vision screening, with patient education and guidance.
- Collecting vital signs, patient history, and specimens, and performing basic laboratory tests under supervising clinician direction.
- Maintaining inventory of supplies and forms necessary for screening equipment, and conducting calibration checks for all equipment.

The role falls under the Division of Facilities Planning & Management, Department of Environment, Health & Safety, and reports to the Occupational Medicine Clinic Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:
- Performs routine vital signs, basic tests, assists with minor procedures, and administers medications as directed by a supervising clinician (35%).
- Prepares and cleans examination rooms, instruments, and equipment for specific procedures (30%).
- Escorted patients to various locations and delivered, ordered, and inventoried general clinic supplies (5%).

This position requires some work to be performed in-person at a designated campus work location. Some work may also be performed remotely from an offsite non-campus work location.

Qualifications:
- Ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues to foster a supportive environment.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and healthcare team members, including adjusting communication style to meet patient needs.
