About the Role:
Hartford HealthCare Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking a skilled and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our busy Department of Cardiac Surgery.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various duties, including first assisting cardiovascular surgical procedures, endoscopic vessel harvesting, preoperative history and physical examination, postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting, and patient education.
Key Responsibilities:
- First assist in cardiovascular surgical procedures
- Perform endoscopic vessel harvesting
- Conduct preoperative history and physical examination
- Provide postoperative care in an outpatient clinical setting
- Educate patients on their condition and treatment plan
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Connecticut
- Certification or eligibility for certification as a Physician Assistant
- 2+ years' experience in cardiovascular surgery (preferred)
- First assistant experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting skills (preferred)
