Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Create virtual, person-centered curriculum through creative and technology-based services to meet individual goals and objectives as identified in Individual Service Plans (ISP).
Design relevant curriculum opportunities for individuals by collaborating with Individual Success Coordinators to review the individuals' choices and preferences.
Provide curriculum, supplies, and written material to individuals in a form or language they understand to facilitate understanding and successful participation.
Partner with staff designated to review and approve content proposals in preparation for readiness of virtual class material.
Lead relevant and meaningful classes as scheduled daily/weekly, by effectively facilitating participation and engagement.

Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year teaching experience.
Experience working with individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Creativity, presentation skills, and technological skills, including proficiency in video calling software and Microsoft Office 365.
Customer focus, perseverance, composure, patience, time management, and ability to learn and be flexible.
Working knowledge of philosophies, objectives, and goals of community service organizations, disabilities, and related characteristics of individuals served by the agency.
Basic computer skills using word processing and data management programs.
Mathematical skills, including calculation of figures and amounts, and ability to apply basic math concepts.
Reasoning ability, including ability to solve practical problems, work independently, and maintain composure and good judgment under stressful conditions.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations, including possession of a current valid California driver's license, current certificate in Adult CPR with AED, and current certificate in Basic First Aid.
Position requires current fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice, pre-placement physical, and proof of negative TB test within the past twelve (12) months.
Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination status as documented by Vaccination Record and includes the passing of two (2) weeks from the last required dose.

Work Environment

This is a remote work position, and work can be performed in an area suitable for the employee so long as client information remains secure and duties are able to be performed. The employee is required to safely push adult individuals in wheelchairs, safely transfer, position, and lift adult individuals using proper lifting techniques or devices, and safely use wheelchair lifts and perform tie-downs. The employee must also talk and hear, use hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls, and occasionally reach for items, crouch, or kneel. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities, including close to far vision, to include depth perception and visual accuracy.
